Local Large Vaccination Centre at Stoneleigh NAEC -Warwickshire

26/1/2021

A new Large Vaccination Centre will open its doors to patients today (Tuesday 26 January). Located in Hall 1 at Stoneleigh NAEC, the new centre will vaccinate patients who have received an invitation through the NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Booking Service.
The NHS Covid-19 Vaccination Booking Service The NHS service will send out letters for eligible people to book their vaccine appointment.
They can do this in two ways: · Booking online at
www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination
 · Phoning 119.

How it works The NHS will write to eligible people (based on the JCVI cohorts) offering them to book through this service. People will be able to book their appointment in a vaccination centre or community pharmacy when these come online.
Letters will initially go to people aged over 70 and over who live in reasonable travelling distance of Stoneleigh and Birmingham (currently up to 45 minutes), and who haven’t already been vaccinated through other NHS vaccination services.
The letter that people will receive also explains that people may have also been contacted by their GP services and if they have booked with them, they should take no further action. Information on which patients have not been vaccinated or booked in is drawn from GP records, so it is important that you keep these as up to date as possible.
Ensuring patients can access the service when they need to In line with the process already in place for other vaccination services, the NHS will contact people when it is their turn to book their vaccine.
It will also not be possible to get a vaccine at a Vaccination Centre or Community Pharmacy without an appointment

Holocaust Memorial Day January 27th and its importance

17/1/2021

Holocaust Memorial Day.

January 27th is Holocaust Memorial Day, and many of you may think that it is just about remembering all of those who perished at the hands of the Nazis in WW2, but its much more than that. It is about those who have perished all over the World due to Genocide which some people may think is something confined to history…..
Unfortunately, that is not the case and in certain areas of the world persecution and genocide still exists today, and yet understandably many people equate Genocide to the activities of WW2 It is absolutely right and proper we should never ever forget about those who lost their lives, their families, their dignity in the most appalling way and on the 27th January it is right and proper that we reflect and remember.
At the moment its really hard and difficult all over the world, and its easy to forget about the past, but imagine having your family rounded up without any notice, being transported and interned, stripped of all your possessions, separated from your children, starved and then ultimately killed. Hard to imagine?
And this is exactly why it must never be forgotten ….
As a Child I had a history teacher and he always said “The key to the Future is always in Past” and in my life time I have lost count of how many times he was right.
