The Warwickshire Local Welfare Scheme helps the most vulnerable residents at times of unavoidable crisis when they have no other means of help.
​It also administers the Household Support Fund, which provides one-off financial support for people in need as the country continues its recovery from the pandemic.

It can help families with children, other vulnerable households and individuals facing hardship this winter, to ensure that they have the support they need to afford food, energy, water bills and associated costs.

High Speed Two (HS2) is the new high speed railway for Britain. Early works for HS2 are carried out by LM – a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons.
There will be a temporary road closure on Leicester Lane Last month we informed you that there would be a temporary road closure to carry out roadside vegetation clearance safely.
However, to complete the works, there will be a further road closure in place on Leicester Lane near Cubbington on Saturday 30 October 2021. All traffic management will be in place between 8:00am and 1:00pm.
Our teams will be on site one hour before and one hour after the works to set up and secure the site at the end of the day. This traffic management is to allow safe access along the roadside as part of HS2 works in the area, which includes vegetation removal. While the closure is operational, signed diversion routes will be in place and access to properties and businesses will be maintained.

The Government’s current COVID-19 strategy makes clear that construction activity can continue as long as it complies with this guidance. The health and safety of our workforce and the communities we affect is our key priority.
Please be assured that those sites that are currently still working are doing so because they can operate within PHE and construction industry guidelines.

You may have seen a press release with regards to the Gigafactory in which it states that production will start in 2025.
 
We were made aware of this late last night and have raised a significant complaint about the press release as it is in effect a presupposed position by a number of people NON of whom are members of WDC nor are they part of the planning process.

The facts are the plan has yet to come forward and there are many questions to be addressed and you can be absolutely clear that both Pam and I will be all over this at every stage.

 We know that the press release has caused both concern and anger across the community and would ask that you trust us to keep you informed all the way.

There will be a temporary daytime road closure There will be a daytime road closure in place on the B4115 Ashow Road subject to consent. This is to allow safe access to our work sites to prepare for future construction works, which include roadside vegetation clearance.
The road closure will be in place from Thursday 21 October until Friday 22 October between 9:30am and 3:30pm with our teams on site one hour before and one hour after the works to set up and secure the site at the end of each day.
While this closure is operational a signed diversion route will be in place. Please see the map overleaf for more information.
Access to properties and businesses will be maintained while these works progress. Residents of Crewe Lane will need to travel via Glasshouse Lane while works are taking place on the junction between Crewe Lane and the B4115 Ashow Road.
