Recently a resident in our area had a garden fire , unfortunately accidently it got out of control resulting in the Fire brigade having to attend and put it out.
The fire also caused various elements of damage to neighbouring properties and in particularly one owned by an elderly person their 80s where it destroyed a fence, a significant 20 yrs plus box hedge and various trees and shrubs. If that was not enough to cope with , unfortunately the resident who had the fire was not insured and whilst the elderly person had insurance it did not cover gardens. The resident who had the fire due their financial situation could only afford to pay for the fence to be replaced which they did however replacing the box, trees and shrubs lost will cost a lot to replace. So everyone has had sleepless nights and lost here, particularly the residents who are not in any way at fault. Where we can we are looking at what support we can secure from various sources get the elderly persons garden back into a decent state. So if your thinking of having a fire take a good look at what can happen and think of the consequences and all the stress and anxiety it can cause particularly if your not insured.....
