International Women’s Day (IWD), honours the achievements of women and promoting women’s rights. Its origins go back to 1909 in the USA with strong links and aims to the suffragette movement started in Manchester around 1903.
Today their principles hold good in every level of society today and whilst we have seen some great progress over the years there is still much to do in order to become a truly balanced society and this in the main is what part of IWD is all about.
