PAUSE IN GREEN BIN COLLECTION

We would like to give you advance notice ahead of a press release due out this week. 
As you know there is an ongoing issue with regards to HGV and delivery drivers, unfortunately this is now beginning to have an impact on our contract waste management provider and consequently last night we were advised of the following: - 
All GREEN BIN collections in the WDC area will be SUSPENDED NEXT WEEK FOR ONE WEEK. 
Additionally, there will be no catch-up process and Grey bins will be collected as normal within the agreed schedule. 
This issue is due to the availability of drivers.  
It is recognised that this will cause concern with some people and to help ease the situation WDC is working with WCC with regards access to the recycle centres without an appointment but this is not yet in place. HOWEVER, you can book a slot on the same day now which was not available before. 
We will POST the press release as soon as its available.  
It is worth noting that many areas throughout the country have suspended their green bin collection completely at the moment due to various issues, however WDC have continued to provide this service and will continue to work with the contractor to resume it as quickly as possible.
