Unfortunately there are certain members of our society who will use the current situation to exploit others to their advantage often when they are at their most venerable.
It is really important that you are not caught out by these people who really don't care what distress or havoc they cause. "Scams come in many forms; uninvited contact is received by email, letter, and telephone or in person making false promises to con victims out of money" For example in our area people are getting telephone calls saying that they are under investigation by HMRC and that they are just about to place an arrest warrant on you for a tax issue and for more information press 1. This then takes you to a premium number (which you pay for) and then the scam starts. DO NOT RESPOND AT ALL, it is a known scam and actions are being taken to stop it. It is our belief that these types of scams will increase in the coming months so we need to be diligent and if you would like more information about scams follow this link. www.warwickshire.gov.uk/stay-safe-scams Comments are closed.
