WDC Condolences & Support

We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Her Majesty The Queen. The Chair of the Council, Councillor Mini Kaur Mangat has written a letter to the Private Secretary to the Queen on behalf of the Council and the people of Warwick District to convey our condolences and to send our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family at this sad time.
Following the announcement of Her Majesty The Queen’s death earlier today, the flag at the Town Hall has been lowered to half-mast and will remain in that position until 8am on the day after the funeral.
The Council recognises that the community may wish to pay tribute to Her Majesty The Queen and there are places across the district where you can lay flowers:
• Kenilworth – Abbey Fields, on the area adjacent to the car park and St Nicholas Church
• Warwick – Market Square
• Leamington Spa – Jephson Gardens on the lawns adjacent the Avery Café and Davies Clocktower.
• Whitnash - Acre Close, adjacent to the civic centre
You can leave flowers or plants, but do not leave them wrapped in paper or plastic and avoid leaving candles. Those placed outside of the designated areas will be moved to the official area. All items will be removed the day after the funeral to be composted, where possible.
The District Council will be opening a book of condolence for people to sign from 10am tomorrow at the Pump Rooms.
